The Kolburne School is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care (DEEC) as a residential, co-educational special education school and treatment facility. Kolburne is also a Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (MA DESE) approved Chapter 766 Private School, and a member of maaps, the Massachusetts Association of Approved Private Schools. Kolburne is also approved by the New York Department of Education as an out-of-state residential special education program for New York State students.
